Import Checker

Drop in a camera report CSV and find out whether Silverstack will read it, before you are standing at the cart wondering why the import did nothing.

●Nothing leaves this device. The file is read in your browser. There is no upload, no account and no internet needed. Save this page and it keeps working offline.

Nothing to hand? Try it with a sample camera report that has the usual faults in it.

If the import already went wrong

Silverstack says it found 0 clips, or 0 of them match

Nearly always one of three things. The file is comma separated when that importer wants semicolons, which is the Drylab one. Or you are matching on a clip name that does not line up with the names in your library. Or the clip column holds a clip name where Silverstack wants the clip number, which is a plain integer: library A001C003 matches a value of 3. Drop the file above and it will tell you which.

It matched, but the fields are still empty

Set Insert / Update Behavior to Overwrite. "Only insert if the field is empty" refuses any field that already holds something, and a camera that writes a placeholder like Unknown, or a numeric field sitting at 0.0, both count as not empty. Overwrite shows you every conflict in red before you commit, so it is safe to use.

Five columns went missing: description, LUT, lens type, lens height, aspect ratio

Those arrive as Custom Fields and have to be renamed first. In Silverstack open Preferences > Projects and rename custom fields 1 to 5 to exactly Description, Lens Height, Lens Type, LUT and Aspect Ratio. Until you do, they are dropped without a word.

The metadata landed on the wrong clips

Clip number matching is roll blind: every roll has a clip 1. Match on clip number and camera and timecode together, and leave Allow custom matching switched off, which makes Silverstack stop and tell you rather than write one row onto every candidate clip.

The Shot field is empty

That importer cannot fill Shot at all, whatever you send it. Import the same file a second time through ScriptE CSV and Shot fills from the slate number.

The order that works

  1. Import the main CSV through Import from > ZoeLog CSV, for scene, take, roll, circled, notes, exposure, lens and the five custom fields.
  2. Import the same file again through ScriptE CSV if you want Shot filled.
  3. Import the set report file through Drylab CSV for the crew names, the production and the shoot day number.
  4. Match on clip number and camera and timecode.
  5. Leave Allow custom matching off unless you intend to resolve each ambiguous clip yourself.
  6. Set Overwrite, and rename those five custom fields first.

Every rule in here was measured against Silverstack Lab 9.3.1 on 20 August 2026 rather than taken from a manual, and each one will show you the measurement behind it. Silverstack and Drylab are made by Pomfort, and ScriptE and ZoeLog are separate products of their own makers.
