Three free apps for the camera department
3DFilm Tools are free apps made by 3DFilmParts for the people who actually run the gear. One covers prep day, one covers the shoot, one covers wrap. Each hands the job to the next, so you type things once. No account, no subscription, nothing you enter ever leaves your device.

SmartPrep
Free camera prep sheets. Photograph or paste the rental order and the kit list builds itself, then check every case in line by line, run the standard prep checks, and work out how many cards and batteries the job really needs. It ends with a prep sheet saying what was ordered, what arrived, what did not, and what failed.
shoot day
SmartLog
Free camera reports. Log every take as it happens: scene, slate, take, timecode, lens, stop, filters and notes, with one tap kit chips so you are not typing on set. Mark the good takes and the false ones, then send a proper paper style camera report as a PDF, one per camera and roll.
wrap day
SmartWrap
Free gear returns sheets. Check every case back out line by line, flag what is missing, what got damaged and what production kept, then hand the rental house a returns sheet you both sign. Proof of what went back, and what did not.
one job, three tools
They are built to be handed on. The kit list you check in on SmartPrep becomes the camera setup SmartLog starts the shoot with, and the returns list SmartWrap expects back at wrap. Substitutes, damage found at prep and gear that never turned up all travel with the job, so nobody retypes a kit list at 6am and nobody gets billed for a lens they never had.
Use one on its own or all three. Each app works perfectly well by itself.
What they all have in common
- Free forever. No subscription, no trial, no upgrade nag, no account to make.
- They work with no signal. Basement rental houses, loading docks, location vans and remote sets are exactly where they are meant to work.
- Your data stays on your device. Nothing you enter is uploaded to us or anybody else.
- Nothing to install. Open the link in a browser and add it to your home screen, or download the single file and keep it on the truck laptop. Same app either way.
- Built by request. A crew member asks, we build it. Every one of these apps has features in it because a working camera assistant, DP or director emailed us.
