SmartWrap privacy

The short version: nothing you enter ever leaves your device.

SmartWrap is a free wrap-day gear returns tool by 3DFilmParts. It runs entirely in your browser or as a home-screen app, and it is built so that we could not read your data even if we wanted to.

What SmartWrap does with your data

  • Everything stays on your device. Jobs, returns lists, notes, serial numbers and your gear library are stored in your browser's local storage on your phone, tablet or computer. There is no server, no cloud and no sync.
  • Nothing you enter is transmitted. There is no analytics, no tracking, no telemetry and no crash reporting. The app never reports what you type, photograph or export, and it never reports launches, opens or usage. Once it has loaded you can run it in airplane mode from the first tap to the exported PDF.
  • No account. There is nothing to sign up for, so there is no email address, password or identity attached to anything you do.
  • Exports are yours. Returns sheet PDFs, CSVs and JSON backups are generated on your device and go wherever you send them: nothing passes through us.

Fonts

When you open the hosted version of SmartWrap over the internet, the two typefaces load from Google Fonts. That request goes to Google and is covered by Google's privacy policy. It carries nothing about your job, your gear or anything you have typed. The downloaded single-file copy never requests them at all, and with no connection the app simply falls back to the type already built into it.

The one number we do count

The Download button on our website passes through a counter so the public download tally on the SmartWrap page is honest. It counts button presses, nothing else: no cookies, no identifiers, and the app itself never reports launches, opens or usage.

Backups

Because your data lives only on your device, back it up: Settings has an auto-backup file option (Chrome, Edge and Android) that rewrites a full backup to a file you choose after every change, and a one-tap dated backup for iPhone and iPad. A JSON backup restores everything through Import on the Sheet tab.
